Student Testimonials
-
"Volunteering with the StudentsCare Senior Buddy Program has been one of the most meaningful experiences in my time at UM. Spending time with my Senior Buddy has taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of meeting someone where they are. The moments of connection we share have shown me how powerful companionship can be."

"During my first shift at the Ronald McDonald House, I met a 5-year-old girl who confided in me about her little brother’s terminal illness. Through playing games, doing arts and crafts, and just spending time together, I was able to offer her an escape and a sense of normalcy. Through moments like these, I realized that care is not always about solving problems, but about being present and willing to listen. I will carry the stories I’ve collected through StudentsCare with me forever."

Chapter Model
We create and sustain student chapters on college campuses to implement our programs. Each chapter elects student leaders to help coordinate volunteers, organize events, and manage chapter operations. Each chapter is supported by StudentsCare staff and all students are trained to understand the unique needs of hospitalized children and isolated older adults.
